Networks are about BUILDING BRIDGES. Social Entrepreneurs build bridges to and for beneficiaries. Beneficiaries, in turn, inform the innovation process and enrich all of our lives. Whether it involves raising healthy, well educated children or building an enterprise to help raise healthy, well educated children, “it takes a village.”
For Social Entrepreneurs, that village is global. Silicon Valley spawned this initiative. Its village is also global but it has an incredible advantage in spawning, incubating, and scaling ventures. It attracts “change makers” from around the world to work in a PLACE with a strong innovation ethos and an “ECOSYSTEM” that supports, nurtures, and networks people with great ideas.
These tools and technologies are designed to replicate, to the extent possible, the power of that ecosystem for global social entrepreneurs. Social Entrepreneurs do not have the advantage of PLACE. Most, but not all, of the worlds unmet needs exist far from commercial centers. With information and communication technology (ICT) we can now provide unprecedented synchronous and asynchronous connectivity on a global basis.
Our goal is to combine the power of face to face and ICT networks to forge a new innovation ecosystem aimed at making the world a better place.
